In less than 12 hours one of our expeditions will begin their trek toward the Summit! Two others will follow on Thursday and another two will begin the trek on Friday and Saturday respectively.
Our first Small Group meets tonight! For the first time ever people will drive to meet at the Small Group leaders house to get to know one another a bit better before diving into God's word - discussing with each other how to apply what was taught on Sunday directly into one another's lives.
Our Small Group leaders are taking the verses we studied in Colossians and will guide a discussion on how Paul's writing impacts our life today - but this is more than a discussion of the details, a talk about technicalities or a chat about his concerns!
Harvest Small groups actively help you apply the Word of God to your life, by you walking together with other Harvest believers - holding each other accountable. That makes you the rope that protects another from a fatal fall off the mountain on this journey up a steep and narrow path. At the same time the other members of your group are your lifeline assisting you over some of the rough terrain and the difficult spot in your life.
Our map is the Bible - a book worth following - and unlike any map that you've used; it's never out of date, does not fail to point out the dangerous portion of this expedition, but it also shows you the places where you can sit down and enjoy the beauty of God's grace and love.
No one said that this climb is going to be easy.
No one has suggested that you can do it without any effort on your part.
No one is telling you that this is even possible out of your own strength.
This is going to be hard work, but the result is breathtaking. So grab your backpack, bible and bivak (tent) and lets begin this walk with Christ together!
