Harvest Bible Chapel Miami believes that Small Groups are the best way of achieving this goal. Harvest Small Groups are based on the example of New Testament house churches (Acts 2:42-47).
I want to give you a brief overview of what's in store for you. Our Small Groups typically number around 12 people and are led by a Small Group leader and his wife, who have been trained by Harvest to be able to come along side you and to help you apply Sunday's sermon to your life, in order that you can become more like Christ.
Here's how we do this:
Small Groups at Harvest represent part of our walk with Christ - one part is your personal bible study, prayer time, ... this is - as you've heard Jason tell us - our personal foot, the vertical relationship between you and God; the other foot is your community foot and that's where Small Groups come in. Small groups rest on 5 key principles (just like your foot has 5 toes):
Small Groups are held at a member of Harvest Bible Chapel Miami's home and last 2 hours (sorry, but there's no child care). After spending some time on getting to know one another, your Small Group Leader will help you dive into the meat of the sermon that Jason preached on Sunday, by leading an engaging discussion focused on how to apply the message of scripture to your life.
In addition to the discussion, you will break up into two groups, men with the Small Group leader and ladies with his wife, to hold each other accountable and to spur one another on to die to sin and to become more like Christ. This time focuses on your brothers and sisters in Christ to come along side of you and to run the race with you, so that you can live a victorious Christian life.
In the end of the time together both groups come back to fellowship with one another.
You will see that the bonds that you form in these microcosms of Harvest Bible Chapel, will be life giving and life transforming friendships!
